Damage Claim Policy

At TheHomeAppliances.ca, we take great care in packaging every order. However, damage can occasionally occur during transit. This policy explains how to report damaged items and what to expect from our claims process.
1. Inspect Your Order Upon Delivery
We strongly recommend inspecting your package immediately upon delivery, before the courier leaves if possible. Check for:
• Crushed, torn, or wet outer packaging
• Visible dents, cracks, or scratches on the product
• Missing components or accessories
If damage is visible, please note it on the courier's delivery receipt and, where possible, refuse the delivery. This significantly speeds up the claims process.
2. Reporting Timeframe
All damage claims must be submitted within 7 calendar days of the delivery date. Claims submitted after this window may not be eligible.
3. How to File a Damage Claim
Email info@thehomeappliances.ca with the subject line: "Damage Claim – Order #[Your Order Number]" and include:
1. Your order number and full name
2. Photos of the damaged item from multiple angles
3. Photos of all sides of the outer packaging
4. A brief description of the damage
5. Whether damage was noted on the delivery receipt
4. Resolution Options
• Replacement: A new unit shipped at no charge (subject to stock availability).
• Partial Refund: For minor cosmetic damage where the item is still fully functional.
• Full Refund: For severely damaged or non-functional items.
We will communicate the resolution within 3–5 business days of receiving your claim.
5. Return of Damaged Items
We may request the damaged item be returned before issuing a replacement or refund. In such cases, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label. Please retain all original packaging until your claim is fully resolved.
6. Items Damaged During Use
Damage from misuse, improper installation, or normal wear and tear is not covered under this policy. For product defects that arise after use, please refer to our Warranty Policy.
